Two weeks ago, I was in Tokyo with my family. Since I was on holiday on a schoolday, I thought it would be a good idea to go to the nearby Studio Ghibli museum in Mitaka. Unfortunately, photos are banned inside the museum, so all I could get was some external shots.
I will go to Tokyo later this month to see my parents again. This will be the first time I see them in over four months, so it's something that's long overdue. Unfortunately, my holiday period coincides with the end of the school year, meaning that now is the perfect excuse for companies of all kinds to jack up prices.
I was in Tokyo last week, and I got to visit what is perhaps my favourite place in the city - Odaiba. It's an artificial island in Tokyo Bay, mostly full of shopping centres and amusement arcades. By day, it's a very fun place to spend a few hours. Shop in Aqua City, have fun in the Sega Joypolis, take a stroll on the beach. But by night, it becomes a world of wonder.
Venus Fort is an indoor shopping centre on Odaiba modelled and themed to look like Venice. The entire complex sports a false ceiling which reproduces the current time of day - which means that at night, the sky is a wonder to behold. I was lucky to arrive just before 10pm, and as I entered the fountain piazza, a bell sounded, and a spectacular light an music show started.
I really can't describe how magical it felt - you'll just have to see for yourself!
